When our Project Manager arrived on site, he noted approximately 3-4 inches of standing water in the highest areas in the crawlspace. Sewage was found throughout, and needed immediate attention. Mitigation technicians were dispatched to the job site, where they began to extract and dry the area. Once ready, our techs applied lime throughout the crawlspace, and then installed new plastic lining.

Our team arrived onsite to to meet the homeowners and scope the job. They began by removing flooring and pulling appliances away from the walls to determine the extent of the water damage. A barrier was set up to contain the work area and a de-humidifier put in place to remove any trace moisture from the zone. Fans were also set up to make sure the damp subfloor was completely dry. When mitigation work was done, the baton was passed to our reconstruction division.

A project manager was dispatched to scope the job site and confirm the cause of the water loss. Once this was determined, proper mitigation work began. First, contents were moved out of the basement so that all standing water could be extracted. Baseboards and shoe moldings were removed and equipment put in place to dry out all flooring and drywall. Minor mold remediation also took place. Once everything was fully dried, the baton was passed to our reconstruction team.

After we received the call for the job, our team headed out to Sherrills Ford with the necessary supplies to secure the detached garage. As soon as the tree was removed from the structure, the crew was ready to begin. They pulled away damaged boards and metal sheeting, and carefully boarded up the open walls and roof of the property, and secured tarps to prevent rain from potentially seeping into the structure. The extensive storm damage was no match for our fast-acting crew. With the structure now secure and dry, our team will be able to move into the reconstruction phase, where they will return the structure to it's pre-disaster condition.

Our containment system has a sound attenuating foam core which reduces renovation noise by up to 50%. It exceeds the requirements of ICRA Class IV, and the panels have been tested and are listed for ASTM E-84 Class A performance for fire and smoke. Our crew arrived on site to inspect the area and get the contract signed, then immediately began the water extraction process. Our special mitigation trucks are equipped with high-powered extraction tools that make it easy to remove the water from any size area. Once all standing water was removed, our team placed blocks under storage tubs and undamaged items, making sure there were no spots where moisture could hide and cause mold issues down the road. Dehumidifers and drying fans were installed to finish the drying process, while our crew pulled out all wet paneling and insulation from the area. When the basement was completely dry, our team cleaned and swept the floors, and passed the baton to the reconstruction crew.

The ceramic tile in the kitchen was matched and replaced, and matching hardwood was brought in for the repairs to the den. After the floors were installed and refinished, our crew cleaned, moved the property owner’s furniture and décor back into the home, and removed the temporary containment walls.

Our team responded after-hours to this emergency call, and came ready to work. They used mitigation trucks to extract standing water, and set up fans and dehumidifiers to run overnight to remove remaining moisture throughout the building. The crew periodically checked the moisture levels with specialized meters, and once the building and the units were fully dry, our team came back to clean and repair any damages caused by the water loss. Because of the client's quick call and our team's rapid response, we were able to get the building back to pre-disaster conditions and get the tenants back into their homes.

We replaced the ruined drop ceiling and insulation in the foyer. The store was able to open the following day, and our team continued to work quietly to remove remaining wet insulation from the walls so as not to disturb customers. Because American Restoration responded so quickly, only minor repairs were needed.

We pulled the insulation, which was ruined by water damage, from under the house and set up containment so potential hazards didn't spread throughout the home. We then set up dehumidifiers inside the house and underneath the house, and placed fans inside the house to dry the sub-floor.
