Completed Job for Commercial Flooding in Shelby, NC

  • Completion Date: January 15, 2020
  • Location: Shelby, NC

Why did the customer contact us?

Upon arriving at work, this client found their store flooded, as well as the adjacent businesses. During the night, the expansion tank on the store's water heater had failed. Because no one was around to shut off the water, the appliance ran until the next morning. This left nearly one inch of standing water in the offices and backstock area. Water had also soaked through the carpeting in the storefront, and had leaked through the walls and into the businesses next door. In total, three businesses were in need of mitigation work.

Solutions provided:

Project Managers immediately dispatched six mitigation technicians with two water extraction trucks to begin work for the client. After the situation was assessed, the technicians divided into separate crews. One crew began inside the least-affected business, as it had customer appointments starting that morning, while another began extracting water and blocking furniture to prevent further damage.

When the water was fully extracted, our technicians set up drying equipment, including fans and dehumidifiers, and began cutting into the drywall to check the moisture content of the walls.

The drying process took less than a week, and once the buildings were fully dry, the mitigation team passed the baton to our reconstruction crew.
