This means relying on a company with an excellent track record for compassionate, efficient service. Disaster Cleanup & Restoration Services Offered in Hickory, NC

Since our establishment in 1971, American Restoration has assisted homeowners throughout North Carolina and upstate South Carolina with recovery efforts after natural disasters. We take on the following jobs:

  • Water Damage Restoration – Our comprehensive restoration process starts once you get in touch with us. American Restoration's team of experts will perform a thorough assessment of your property to determine the extent of the damage. The water will be extracted from the area with industrial-grade vacuums and submersible pumps, followed by dehumidification with thermal imaging cameras. Finally, cleaning and deodorizing will take place to avoid damaged drywall, ceilings, flooring, carpets, and more.
  • Fire Damage Restoration – The key to successfully restoring your home after a fire is by calling in a reputable disaster restoration specialist as soon as possible. If restoration work begins right away, sometimes even electronics can be saved, along with your important files and documents. Along with cleanup of debris and all of the necessary steps to fire damage restoration, American Restoration will also bag up a week’s worth of your clothes and have them washed for you in our industrial washing machines using products that remove the odor of smoke. They’ll be clean and folded when returned to you within 48 hours of the incident.
  • Storm Damage Restoration – Hurricanes and hail storms are commonplace for the city of Hickory, and these severe weather phenomena can cause thousands of dollars in damage. American Restoration is familiar with all the ways Mother Nature can wreak havoc on your property and are experts when it comes to storm damage restoration. We perform boarding up and tarping, removal of fallen trees and other heavy kinds of debris, provide housing assistance to those in need, and damage repair.
  • Reconstruction – Sometimes the damage from a natural disaster is too severe for mere repairs. American Restoration also performs total reconstruction and general contracting on properties in need of them.
  • Environmental Restoration – American Restoration’s expert technicians are IICRC and HAZWOPER certified to handle biohazards and other dangerous substances. We perform cleanup for sites of trauma and crime, methamphetamine sites, black water and mold remediation, and more.

This pre-cleaning look at the rooftop dryer vent shows several months of lint and dust buildup around the edges. Commercial Dryer Vent Cleaning in Hickory, NC
May 25, 2021

Since this is a commercial site, our team arrived early (at 6:30am) to start the job. This allowed us to be in and out before the facility opened, minimizing disruption to their day.

Because of the number of bends and curves in the dryer's duct work, our team used the HEPA vacuum on the interior for the first cleaning, then switched it to the exterior. A technician was able to push compressed air through the exhaust vent, where it was removed by the vacuum at the other end. This allowed our techs to target trapped fiber and lint from both sides of the vent, loosening and removing it. In order to push air through the ductwork, our techs use a long, flexible rod that can be inserted into the ducts and controlled manually. Different types of nozzles and attachments are used, including a "whip," which uses a number of short, soft hoses to sweep and loosen debris. While whips are not typically used for residential dryer vents, commercial dryer vents are much larger, making the whip an ideal tool for cleaning.

Frequently used dryers, both in commercial and residential buildings, benefit greatly from regularly scheduled cleanings.
